September 30th is Orange Shirt Day, also known as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Reminder that we will be honouring Orange Shirt Day during our September 29 church service. We hope that as many as possible will wear an orange shirt on Sunday as a personal commitment to honouring residential school survivors and their families. Our friends and colleagues attending the Quilting Retreat this weekend will be doing the same. And hopefully many of you online in our virtual GSJ community will join us as well in wearing an orange shirt.
The orange shirt has become a symbol of hope, reconciliation and our commitment to a better future. To learn more about Orange Shirt Day, please visit the Orange Shirt Society's website.
