Reminder that we will be honouring Orange Shirt Day during our church service. We hope that as many as possible will wear an orange shirt on Sunday as a personal commitment to honouring residential school survivors and their families. Our friends and colleagues attending the Quilting Retreat this weekend will be doing the same. And hopefully many of you online in our virtual GSJ community will join us as well in wearing an orange shirt.
Edith Gardell, one of our licenced lay worship leaders, will preside and will read the message written by Rev. Susan Toller, Susan Palmai will welcome us, Wendy Bergeron will offer the land acknowledgement, and Edith will also lead the Theme Conversation for children and adults (a video about orange shirt day). Barb Colye will read the scripture: Luke 18:15─17. Our Minister of Music, James Caswell and the choir will lead us in music and song; Geoff McGuire, our soloist this morning, will provide the Gift of Music: Look at the World (John Rutter).
Here is the bulletin for the service to follow along with the words of texts, hymns, songs and prayers. You can join the service live at 10:25 am at this YouTube link; after the service ends it will be available to watch as a recording.
