Today, we celebrate and bless the many quilts that are heading to little people who need them. We also begin to prepare for our turn toward Advent. In the scripture, it says of the temple, not a stone will be left on stone, and the language gets quite apocalyptic in describing the future. The takeaway message is we live as resident aliens in a spiritual country, not our own, always looking ahead to our life in God’s peaceable kin-dom.
Rev. Dr. Teresa Burnett-Cole will lead the service. Marsha Hay Snyder will welcome us, and Rev. Sue Toller will offer the land acknowledgement and lead the Theme Conversation for children and adults. Brad Munro will read the scripture: Mark 13:1-8. Our Minister of Music Emeritus, Robert Palmai and the choir will lead us in music and song; Julia Barry, our soloist this morning, will provide the Gift of Music: Sing with Grace in Your Heart (G.F. Handel).
Here is the bulletin for the service to follow along with the words of texts, hymns, songs and prayers. You can join the service live at 10:25 am at this YouTube link; after the service ends it will be available to watch as a recording.
