Kwe Kew message:  June is Indigenous History Month

June is Indigenous History Month and June 21st is National Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

How will you be marking this time that has come to be recognized because of the advocacy and leadership of First Nations people?

There are lots of opportunities locally to learn more about Indigenous cultures and ceremonies, including the Kitigan Zibi pow wow on the weekend of June 1 and 2 and the annual Summer Solstice Indigenous Festival taking place at Madahoki Farm on the weekend of June 22 and 23.

More information can be found in these links to the events or on their Facebook pages.
