Join us in Worship - Sunday, May 7, 2023, the Fifth Sunday of Easter

May 7, 2023

This is the fifth Sunday of Easter at Glebe-St. James.

You are most welcome in this place whether in person or online!

We find ourselves in the middle of this Easter season, now on the fourth Sunday after the Resurrection, and we have a beautiful narrative of sheep and shepherds.

Join us in person or via our livestream as we continue to reflect on the story of Jesus in this 'post-Easter' period and a reflection of one of the teachings of Jesus.  Are we sheep or 'sheeple' is the question!

Rev. Dr. Teresa Burnett-Cole will lead us in worship. The reading will be from John 14:1-14 read by Wayne MacWhirter. James Caswell, our Minister of Music, will lead us in music and song.

If you'd like to read along the sermon texts, prayers, hymn lyrics and even the children's story, find the service bulletin linked here.

Join in on the online offering plate for M&S, Outreach & GSJ operational needs! If donating online, you can indicate on the 'paypal' page where you want your gift to be dedicated. Gifting by means of e-transfer is now accepted using the email: [email protected] (please indicate to which fund you wish your donation to go to).

You can watch the video of the service here on YouTube. If you had trouble getting on to the first link, please click again, as the link address may have been updated to address technical difficulties. Alternately, consider 'subscribing' to the GSJ YouTube channel and use the 'notification' (the 'bell' symbol on the GSJ YouTube channel) to be notified when we go live. If, for any reason, the webcast is interrupted you should still be able to connect by looking for the red 'live' thumb-nail image.

You can now view the weekly announcement slides or on our "What's Happening?" page. Scroll through at your own pace, or let them auto-play - your choice! Sign up for our e-Update to keep up on more of the life and work of the church.

Let us know how we are doing! If you have any ideas, comments or feedback about the online (or in person!) worship experience, please contact the worship committee at: [email protected].

One of the great spiritual questions is this: What do we see when we look at other people? Do we see strangers or neighbours? Problems or possibilities? Labels or beloved children of God? The answer matters, because what we see shapes how we live.
