Sixth Sunday of Easter May 22, 2022

May 20, 2022

Join us in person or via livestream  on Sunday, May 22nd!

Happy Sunday! Christ is Risen, and today we celebrate the sixth Sunday of the season of Easter.

We continue to worship in a hybrid fashion with some joining in person in the Sanctuary, and some coming together online via livestream or watching the recording at a later time. A warm welcome to those of you joining us here!

Our service this week will be lead by Coordinating Minister, Rev. Teresa Burnett Cole, with a message about three aspects of heavenly life: heaven is a community; heaven is a place of healing; and heaven is a place of vision. Our scripture reading comes from Revelation 21:10, 22:1-5. James Caswell, Minister of Music, will be joined by the choir to lead us in music and song.

Our service bulletin with hymns, texts and announcements is linked here.

Join in on the virtual offering plate for M&S, Outreach & GSJ operational needs! If donating online, you can indicate on the 'paypal' page where you want your gift to be dedicated to.

You can watch the video of the service here on YouTube. Please consider 'subscribing' to the GSJ YouTube channel and use the 'notification' (the 'bell' symbol on the GSJ YouTube channel) to be notified when we go live. If, for any reason, the webcast is interrupted you should still be able to connect by looking for the red 'live' thumb-nail image

Coffee Hour: Every Sunday at 1 pm, you are invited to our virtual Coffee Hour! Click here to join by Zoom. But this week (for those of us in Ottawa!), even if you are not yet comfortable joining us indoors for worship, consider joining the outdoor post-service coffee hour. Starting ca. 11:30am, there will be coffee, treats and a chance to meet and greet one another in person. Public health will be top of mind. Many thanks to the WIGs for organizing! We hope to see you there!

One of the great spiritual questions is this: What do we see when we look at other people? Do we see strangers or neighbours? Problems or possibilities? Labels or beloved children of God? The answer matters, because what we see shapes how we live.
