Building Entrances & Accessibility
- Front Tower Entrance (Rainbow Steps): This is the main entrance (and the entrance primarily used for concerts), at the corner of 1st Street and Lyon.
- First Avenue Ramp (Accessible) Entrance: The ramp brings visitors to a small vestibule that enters into the sanctuary. When the sanctuary is in use, the accessible door is unlocked. At other times, visitors using the ramp are asked to contact the Church Administrator to have it unlocked.
- Lyon Street "Red Doors": This entrance is shared with the Glebe Montessori School. Note that this Lyon Street door is also the fastest way to the Church Office!
- Parking Lot Entrance: The small parking lot at the back of the church leads to a red door at the back of the building. This entrance takes you to the music office and the back of the Sanctuary.
Accessibility with Glebe-St. James
There are five levels in Glebe-St. James: the 650 Lyon St. Entrance, the Sanctuary and offices upstairs, and the Glebe Montessori School with 2 levels downstairs.
As a welcoming and affirming congregation, we are committed to improving accessibility at Glebe-St. James. Plans are in the works for full access between each of the 5 levels of the building. Currently, it is possible to move from the Sanctuary to Fraser Hall by using either a small wheelchair lift or walking up 4 steps. There is a universal washroom close to Fraser Hall.
